At what stage of pregnancy should I visit?
We recommend visiting between weeks 28 and 32, when we can generally get the cutest facial images. Women with twins should visit around 27 weeks, as twins have less space. We can usually determine your baby's gender by week 18. Click here to use our Best Time Calendar

What factors determine the quality of my images?
The most important factor is the position of the baby. Other critical factors are the amount of amniotic fluid (the more the better) and the amount of tissue between the probe and the baby. We guarantee you will like your pictures or you don't pay -- that's our Complete Satisfaction Guarantee.

How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?
We are usually booked a couple of weeks in advance.

How many guests may I bring?
Most of our clients bring friends or family to their appointment. Our leather sofa and love seat provide comfortable seating for five, but you're welcome to bring six guests. We use a home theater projector to display a 75” image so everyone in the room can easily see your new baby.

How much time should I plan for my visit?
The packages with 30 minute ultrasound sessions take about an hour and the packages with 10 minute ultrasound sessions take about 30 minutes.

What kind of ultrasound machine do you use?
We use the GE Voluson 730 Expert, the top-of-the-line ultrasound machine for obtaining 3D and 4D images. It is the machine featured in the GE commercial.

Is this safe?
The GE Voluson 730 Expert is used by the world’s finest prenatal clinics and is as safe as the ultrasound machine used at your doctor's office. Ultrasound technology has been the subject of hundreds of clinical studies over the past 30 years and has not been shown to cause any harm to the mother or baby.  We urge you to speak with your doctor about the safety of ultrasound.

Do I need a note from my doctor?
No, you do not need a note from your doctor.  We do require, however, that you be receiving active prenatal care and encourage you to speak with your doctor about your intention to visit Baby Insight. In no way can Baby Insight’s limited medical ultrasound be substituted for a diagnostic or medically indicated ultrasound.  We do not take measurements or determine due dates.

Are Baby Insight’s sonographers certified?
Yes, all of our ultrasound technicians are board-certified by ARDMS
